Independent living manors are one-bedroom apartment units serving singles and couples who are aged 65+. These comfortable units are for seniors who are fully able to cook, clean and live independently.

All self-contained units feature a living room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and storage closet. Manor tenants organize social events, such as bingo nights, potluck suppers and coffee hours.

Operation of self-contained apartments is funded by tenant rent, with capital maintenance funding for major repairs and improvements from Alberta Seniors and Housing.

Rent is 30 per cent of income in all self-contained housing apartments. Twelve of the 32 apartments in Diamond Jubilee Manor & Suites operate under the "affordable housing" program and rent is $820 per month.
